Start each day with gratitude

It's a big deal to wake up. Usually, until we get very old or experience a major illness, we don't think about it much. We just take it for granted.

It's no small thing to open our eyes, take in a deep breath and stretch. In that moments, at the start of my day, I say thank you. Not just for the waking up, but for being blessed with the potential each new day brings.

Each time we wake up, we get another chance to change things, fix things, do new things, perfect things, grow, love, heal, be blessed and be a blessing. With each awakening, we have new opportunities for joy, amazement, wonder, awe ...

The promise and potential of each new day is not to be ignored, glossed over or squandered, but it's to be actively embraced. It's a new chance, a new beginning, a new opportunity to be anything we want to be.

It is a gift of gigantic proportions. It's fresh, new and clean. It has never been before and when it's over, it will be what each of us has made it. All we have to do is live it. Live it, not with the encumberances of the past or by worrying about the future, but by embracing the opportunity it presents, NOW, and using it to move in a positive direction.
